Children’s Ministry
We value children and believe
Jesus did as well (Matthew 19:14).
It is our goal to minister to children and help them understand the importance of a life-changing relationship with Jesus. Our children’s ministry goes from nursery to fifth grade. Kids enjoy a safe, fun, and age-appropriate environment. Children are taught through curriculum that helps them understand the Bible in creative and fun ways! We hope you will join us as we want to minister to all ages.
Children’s Sunday School is from 9:45 am to 10:45 am in the Education Building where they can also participate in our Children’s Church during the 11 am service.
All children’s volunteers have received background checks and are supervised by our Children’s Coordinator.
Youth Ministry
At Youth Group, students gather in fellowship, fun, and worship. We teach truths about God and what it means to live as Christians in the world. We deeply care about our students and want to see them grow in their understanding and relationship with Jesus. Youth Group starts at 6pm on Sunday with dinner. We follow dinner with worship, bible teaching, and fellowship. All are welcome.
Discipleship Class
Discipleship classes and studies are offered throughout the year. We believe all Christians are called to daily discipleship. Studies are located at various times and locations. We encourage all people to be involved and take seriously the call to discipleship through prayer, scripture, worship, financial stewardship, giving, service, and fellowship.
Women's Ministry

The Women’s Ministry is a welcoming community where women can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, build meaningful friendships, and serve others together. Women of all ages and stages of life are invited to participate—whether you are a member of First Methodist, attending another church, or simply looking for a place to connect and grow in faith.
Our desire is to be disciples of Christ, to live out the fruits of the Holy Spirit, and to serve God through all that we do. Through Bible studies, retreats, fellowship events, and opportunities to serve, we encourage one another, share our faith, and seek ways to make a difference in the lives of others.
Women’s Bible Study
Bible study is an important part of our ministry and provides a welcoming place to learn, ask questions, share, and grow together. Studies are held twice each month from September through May, with each session lasting approximately 90 minutes. Studies feature video teaching from nationally recognized women’s Bible teachers along with group discussion and opportunities for fellowship.
Morning and evening sessions are offered, and childcare is available upon request. Whether you are new to Bible study or have been studying God’s Word for years, you are welcome to join us.
Women’s Retreats
Our women’s retreats are special times set aside to relax, connect, and grow in faith. Ladies from First Methodist and other churches throughout the community are invited to enjoy a time of fellowship as we prepare for upcoming Bible studies.
Retreats may include a shared meal, guest speakers or special programs, games, crafts, and often an opportunity to enjoy a Christian movie together. Most importantly, these gatherings give women the opportunity to encourage one another, build friendships, and enjoy time together in a Christ-centered environment.
Fellowship & Service
Throughout the year, the Women’s Ministry provides additional opportunities for fellowship, encouragement, and service. Together, we support organizations and charities that serve those in need, including Big Bend Hospice, Brynwood, and the Jefferson Pregnancy Center.
We would love for you to join us. Come as you are, bring a friend, and discover a welcoming group of women who are seeking to grow in faith, encourage one another, and serve God together.
Methodist Men

Methodist Men is a welcoming community of men seeking to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and encourage one another in faith and daily life. Whether you are a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, or simply looking for a place to belong, you are invited to join us as we learn, serve, and grow together.
Through Bible studies, fellowship gatherings, mentorship, service projects, and special events, we strive to become the men God has called us to be. Our desire is to equip and encourage men to live out their faith with integrity, lead with servant hearts, and make a positive impact in their homes, church, workplace, and community.
Breakfast With Jesus
On the third Sunday of each month, the Methodist Men prepare and serve breakfast for our church family. This special time of food and fellowship brings people together, and the donations received help support church ministries and outreach projects in our community.
Men’s Bible Study
We are committed to growing in God’s Word and applying biblical truth to everyday life. Bible studies are offered throughout the fall, winter, and spring, providing opportunities for learning, encouragement, meaningful discussion, and friendship.
Service Projects
Serving others is an important part of who we are. Throughout the year, the Methodist Men assist widows, elderly individuals, people with disabilities, single-parent households, and others in need within our church and community. Projects may include home repairs, yard work, community cleanups, and helping during times of natural disaster.
Fellowship Gatherings
Men gather regularly to share a meal, pray for one another, study God’s Word, and encourage one another in faith. These gatherings provide opportunities to build friendships and plan ways to serve and minister to others.
Men’s Get-Togethers
Throughout the year, we plan outdoor activities and special events designed for fun, fellowship, and building stronger relationships. These gatherings bring together men of all ages, including teenage young men, and create opportunities to connect, laugh, and grow together in Christ.
Wednesday
Night Dinner
Join us for food and fellowship at our Wednesday Fellowship Dinners, which are held at 6:00 p.m. every Wednesday. (The exception is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, on which we are helping prepare for the free Community Thanksgiving Dinner at the church!)
We have safe seating in our Family Ministry Center for all who would like to be served and enjoy fellowship.

VOLUNTEERS WELCOME! We are always looking for additional members for some of our cook teams as well as groups who might like to adopt a Wednesday Dinner as a fund-raiser or become a cook team in our rotation.
